About Us

Legacy Prose™ was founded in 1998 by Andrea Gross and Irv Green. Based in Denver, they create commissioned memoirs for people in all parts of the United States.

Andrea (Andy) Gross—Creative Director

Andy Gross

Andy Gross has interviewed and profiled thousands of people during her twenty years as journalist and biographer. As contributing editor of Ladies' Home Journal, she often wrote stories of people who had survived shattering experiences. Three of her stories were made into TV movies starring well-known actresses such as Pam Dawber and Jill Eikenberry.

Andy has also produced feature stories for numerous other publications from Time Magazine to Military Officer and the Washington Post. She is the author of four commercially-published books including Shifting Gears, published by Crown Books/Random House and many privately-printed memoirs.

Before turning to journalism, Andy owned a small graphic design firm in Silicon Valley. She now stays closely involved with the design processes of Legacy Prose™ book production.

Irv Green—Executive Director

Irv Green

Irv Green is business and administrative director for Legacy Prose™. He honed these skills during twenty-five years as a pediatric dentist in a solo practice in Silicon Valley.

After working with Andy on a book touting the rejuvenating effects of early retirement, he left dentistry to begin a new career in travel journalism. His photographs have appeared in numerous publications.

Today, Irv's skill with cameras and computers enables him to restore old photos, integrate them with the text, and guide both books and videos through the production phase.

In addition, he uses his medical background to consult with researchers as new studies in psychology and gerontology discover the additional beneficial aspects of life review and reminiscence.
